Seniors Computing Update

It has been a month since seniors computing has been up and running in the Manjimup CRC and it has proven to be an absolute success!!! ​

"So far we have been covering the really basic computing use techniques such as using a mouse, typing and navigating within your computer. We have also started and continue to work on Word Documents and basic Google searches.
There is a big variation in skill level between the groups and occasionally some of the higher skilled members appear bored when covering the basics but I feel we need to get everyone comfortable with using a computer prior to moving on to the harder thing. 
There is a great interesting in working on IPads as many of the members have been asking about this, hopefully we will move to tablets soon enough. 
For the initial two weeks Mac/Apple users were at a disadvantage as they did not have access to our Macs however that has been rectified, there are fewer Mac users than Windows.
Some of our members bring in their own Laptops so they become accustom to it instead of switching between our computers and their personal ones which can be slightly different.
I have two volunteers who are a fantastic help and they come to the two busiest sessions –Leah and Sylvia, they are a fantastic help as they can help catch people up who have fallen behind so the rest can continue on. 
Jennifer Willcox from Walpole has a lot of experience with Seniors Computing so she has been great at answering my questions and helping me plan out the sessions.
The general feel within the groups is they are enjoying it and that they are learning which I hope continues.​"
