We also have a brand new class called iPad Question Time. Emma (our new trainee) will host from 10am – 11am in the meeting room.
Days for Girls has made wonderful progress and they are now officially being suspected by us here at MCRC and have a proud new committee. They will continue to sew in their two groups in Quinninup and Manjimup and come together her eat the centre on March 16th. All welcome!
We have had a busy month at our Manjimup CRC with a variety of events taking place catering towards both our seniors and young people. Management have been busy attending meetings to assist preparations for the MCRC tender application and we have achieved two outreach events, one based in Pemberton and another in Manjimup.
During this month our seniors have enjoyed a Mens Health Day called Spanner in the Works which successfully assisted over 80 participants, participated with over 40 veterans at the Manjimup RSL and the Dept. Veterans Affairs for a two day information event and appreciated a Black Swan Theatre production called Tartuffe hosted here at MCRC.
Days for Girls began their initial sewing meeting in the meeting room and we are proud to say over 10 ladies arrived dedicated and equipped to begin learning how to sew and put together the dignity bags. Kathy Green once again took our breath away with another kind donation of approx. $60 to go towards the funding of our cutting machine which makes the cutting of the fabric more quick, accurate and fault free. A successful start to Manjimup Days for Girls Team.
Projects has been busy this month with preparations for our Spanner in the Works event coming up November 10th. We have the event well-advertised and community health workers are all committed and excited to bring the event together.
Our beautiful Rose Centre has now relocated to new premises and is holding a fresh new relaunch of their services on November 18th at 4pm. Therapists that would be willing to donate a morning a month are encouraged to contact Beth Askew on 0497 022 708 as they are short on helpers these coming months.
Days for Girls had their meet/greet meeting last week and it was a huge success. We have many ladies ready and committed to forming a Manjimup days for Girls team and are meeting 30th November to start sewing.
Have a look through our website for more information about our projects and feel free to contact us here at the centre with any questions.
