Manjimup CRC and Signs by Kylie have combined forces to deliver a series of Auslan Sign Language Courses.
Each and every one of us can loose our hearing and potentially struggle with communicating with friends, family, members of the general public and not to mention the store owners whom we wish to have tend to our needs... That's why having even a little understanding of sign language is so important.
Signs by Kylie will be rolling out a series of Auslan Courses over the next few months, starting with their Auslan for Adults which we are currently seeking expressions of interest for.... So come, Join the community in opening up our lines of communication with every member of the public...

Child 360 - The app that every parent needs.

The app that every parent needs.
In an Australian first, we have just launched a free app called Child360. It provides practical tools and a clear pathway for parents to help identify and manage the mental health needs of their children.
Our Director, Brad Morgan says the app was developed after recognising that all families face challenges that can impact children’s mental and emotional wellbeing and that it can be daunting for parents to know where to begin looking for help.
“The Child360 app gives parents a simple, trustworthy, pro-active tool for taking stock of their children’s social and emotional wellbeing,” Mr Morgan said.
“It can be a powerful starting point for parents who are confused or overwhelmed.”
Child360 allows parents to develop a confidential profile of their child and answer questions about areas such as:
  • parent-child relationships
  • emotions and behaviour
  • routines
  • communication, and
  • support networks.
After answering the questions, parents select an area to work on and then choose from three levels of action, including:
  • Accessing information through articles, videos and podcasts.
  • Speaking to someone via an online or phone service.
  • Making an appointment to see a GP or child and maternal health nurse.
Child360 was developed in partnership with parents, health professionals, researchers and parenting experts, and draws on evidence-based practices to guide parents towards credible, quality information that best suits their situation and their children’s needs. Parents can even download a letter from the app to take to their GP, with prompts to help with discussing areas of concern.
Download it via the App Store or Google Play Store now.

Keep an eye out when doing your business in Manjimup for our 'The Big Chill Sleep Out' Collection Boxes... Coles and Woolworths Manjimup have both offered their support to our local cause by becoming a collection site for our Non-Perishables and Long-Life items.
So while Adam & Tristan have been out and about setting our our collection sites, Kaiden Price tries out his modelling poses after collecting our first donation of Non-Perishables.
Once again the community jumps up and gives to those that need!

Manjimup CRC is proud to assist Life without Barriers with their 'The Big Chill Sleep Out' and some of our staff will be attending the Sleep Out at the Farmers Market on the 9th of August and would love to see some of the local businesses also show their support by getting out, rugging up and braving the weather.
Not everyone is going to be brave enough to face the cold... does not mean you are not able to help, Life without Barriers are also collecting Non-perishable items ie: Canned Goods, Long-Life Items and donations to assist in our local shelters.
Collection points will be popping up around town over the next week, Manjimup CRC being the first! So please take some time when going through the pantries and supermarkets... Every items counts!
