Manjimup CRC and Signs by Kylie have combined forces to deliver a series of Auslan Sign Language Courses.
Each and every one of us can loose our hearing and potentially struggle with communicating with friends, family, members of the general public and not to mention the store owners whom we wish to have tend to our needs... That's why having even a little understanding of sign language is so important. Signs by Kylie will be rolling out a series of Auslan Courses over the next few months, starting with their Auslan for Adults which we are currently seeking expressions of interest for.... So come, Join the community in opening up our lines of communication with every member of the public... Have you checked out the Manjimup CRC spread in the Manjimup Bridgetown Times' Shop Local, Support Local, Use Local wrap around? The app that every parent needs.
In an Australian first, we have just launched a free app called Child360. It provides practical tools and a clear pathway for parents to help identify and manage the mental health needs of their children. Our Director, Brad Morgan says the app was developed after recognising that all families face challenges that can impact children’s mental and emotional wellbeing and that it can be daunting for parents to know where to begin looking for help. “The Child360 app gives parents a simple, trustworthy, pro-active tool for taking stock of their children’s social and emotional wellbeing,” Mr Morgan said. “It can be a powerful starting point for parents who are confused or overwhelmed.” Child360 allows parents to develop a confidential profile of their child and answer questions about areas such as:
Download it via the App Store or Google Play Store now. We would like to advise our customers that our phone lines are now fixed, Telstra has advised us that they intend to transfer our phone lines to an alternate service to alleviate this issue reoccurring in the future.
We would like to thank the Pemberton and Northcliffe Community Resource Centre's for their assistance with collecting information and passing on messages to support our customers. Keep an eye out when doing your business in Manjimup for our 'The Big Chill Sleep Out' Collection Boxes... Coles and Woolworths Manjimup have both offered their support to our local cause by becoming a collection site for our Non-Perishables and Long-Life items. So while Adam & Tristan have been out and about setting our our collection sites, Kaiden Price tries out his modelling poses after collecting our first donation of Non-Perishables. Once again the community jumps up and gives to those that need!
