Bob Taylor, pictured, is Northampton’s treasure and a self-confessed avid litter collector. Keep Australia Beautiful WA want to say thank you and recognise him as a litter legend in Western Australia. In 2017 Bob collected 485 litter bags of roadside rubbish! Bob is celebrating his 75th birthday on 25 January and has been picking up road side litter for 25 years. You can read more about his clean-up efforts here.

We are excited to say that Chelsea Basham, local country western singer, will be playing at the launch. Communities will be able to register for the awards from then, and project submissions will be due by June. There are seven awards, so now is a great time to consider what projects you could enter. The Manjimup CRC team, are delighted at the success of the "Young Women Empowered" expo event which we collaborated in hosting with the Shire of Manjimup, and Warren Blackwood Youth Network, on Saturday 10th March. To see so many 12-18 year old young ladies attend, have fun, be enlightened and inspired by motivational speakers was fantastic! Thank you to all staff , community organisations, stall holders and volunteers for your passion and contribution, together we made a difference! Here are some event photos, of a wonderful day. Veronica Bravo is headlining Young Women Empowered this coming Saturday 10 March. Veronica will be performing songs from her soon to be released album and speaking to the young women in attendance about the struggles she has faced throughout her teen years and how she overcame them. During this free event for young ladies they will hear inspiring speakers, view a fashion parade and participate in various activities, including makeup tutorials, yoga classes, macrame and crystal jewellery workshops, kokedama workshops, henna art and laser tag. Makeup tutorials, Henna tattoos, Yoga, Aromatherapy, Kokedama and Macrame Jewellery Workshops and Manicures are just some of the exciting activities that you will be able to participate in when you attend this worthwhile FREE event.
