Culture and the Arts Minister John Day said the centre was implementing the upgrade in two stages with grants provided through the Liberal National Government's $24 million Royalties for Regions Creative Regions program. "The program's Regional Venues Improvement Fund (RVIF) aims to ensure important local venues such as the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre are well equipped to accommodate regional performing arts groups," Mr Day said. "Having high-quality sound and lighting is an important factor in attracting an even more diverse range of performing arts groups to visit Mandurah." The work will include:
"The program complements local government contributions, enabling upgrades that would otherwise not be possible," Mr Redman said. "The Mandurah Performing Arts Centre upgrade is expected to be completed by mid-2017." Fact File
