We need your help – and it will only take five minutes
For some time now Manjimup parents have had a difficult time trying to juggle work and the care of their school aged children due to the lack of before and after school care available in Manjimup. Often parents are forced to make the hour round trip to Bridgetown or Pemberton to access adequate care for their children before they even set of to work. Effective afterschool programs bring a wide range of benefits to youth, families and communities. Afterschool programs can boost academic performance, reduce risky behaviours, promote physical health, and provide a safe, structured environment for the children of working parents. We now have the opportunity to promote how important our children’s needs are by supporting the YMCA’s recently released Expression of Interest. If we can demonstrate a need, we stand a good chance of bringing Out Of School Care back to Manjimup, run by the YMCA and housed at East Manjimup Primary School (children will not need to attend East Manjimup Primary School to attend). All we are asking is that you promote the Expression of Interest by asking those you know to please take five minutes to fill it out. The Expression of Interest is attached and responses can easily be emailed to Michael Smith at mishael.smith@education.wa.gov.au. |
